Please don't explode - Lessons from an egg

If You Don’t Want to Explode, Learn from This…

The other day, I exploded an egg in the microwave. Literally.

The other day, I exploded an egg in the microwave. Yep, you read that right. I was rushing, multitasking, and trying to squeeze one more thing into my day. I accidentally set the timer for twice the time needed, wandered off to do something else, and came back to… a splattered mess everywhere.

The cleanup? Frustrating. But the lesson? Eye-opening.

How often do we do this in life?

Pushing harder, trying to do it all, ignoring the signs we’re headed for burnout - until boom, everything falls apart. The result? More mess to clean, more overwhelm, and less energy for what truly matters.

We overload ourselves, convinced we can juggle everything, adding to our to-do lists, ignoring the small warning signs that we’re stretching too thin and that we’re headed for burnout - until boom, everything falls apart. The result? More mess to clean, more overwhelm, and less energy for what truly matters., We break, become a splattered mess and we find ourselves cleaning up the consequences of running on empty.

But what if we didn’t wait for the explosion?

What if we built in space to pause, reflect, and check in with ourselves before things got messy? What if we recognised the warning signs and adjusted before everything boiled over?

Because life isn’t meant to be a constant clean-up job.

So, if you’re feeling the pressure building, take this as your sign to pause. Before the explosion. Before the mess. Before you find yourself scrubbing egg off the walls.

Because trust me - it's a lot easier that way.

(A soulful nudge: This is exactly why I created S.A.C.R.E.D. Re-Energise - a framework designed to help us stop running on autopilot, reclaim our energy, and stay connected to what truly matters. An yes I am still a work in progress but this blog and insight is a testiment to take a challenging situation and gain a growth opportunity from it).
