Week 1 of 2024 - Rain, Simplicity and Winter

These are my musings, journallings and reflections from nature and life that help me to make conscious the unconcious, connect with my soul guidance to help create the most fulfilled expression of myself. I share them for those that find their way here, may they inspire, guide you or just let you know that you are not alone...
31st December 2023 - Sometimes it rains
It is the last day of 2023 and that always leaves me in reflective mode. I will be honest 2023 has not turned out as I hoped or expected and today has provided me with some wonderful insights.
It has rained, I mean really rained but me and my boys had to head out to give Luna Pups her walk. We headed to woods hoping it would provide a little respite from the rain. As we walked the rain trickled down our necks and we slipped on the usually relatively dry pathways which were thick with mud and slippery underfoot. It wasn't easy and it wasn't pleasant. Then we stopped focussing on the rain and looked what we could find - strange shaped stumps and making umbrellas from the trees or even creating more rain showers.
As I reflected these thoughts filtered through...
Some life can feel messy, sometimes it rains and sometimes it pours. But sometimes it is messy magic in progress...unicorns can be found in stumps left behind, sometimes it takes a willingness to play with the rain to see what lies beneath.
Sometimes it just needs a change of perspective or mindset to find the magic in the rain.
My boys were a little reluctant at the start of our very wet dog walk today but with a little help they found the magic and embraced the journey.
My favorite quote is Proust's 'The real voyage of discovery is not finding new landscapes but having with new eyes'
Are you willing to explore your year and life with new eyes...find the magic and growth.

3rd January 2024 - Heres to simplicity
I made the mistake of checking social media and my business inbox today which left me riding a large tide of FOMO, shiny objects and an increasing to-do list. Somewhere amongst all the noise, I feel myself losing a sense of what I actually want!
So I have just been with these feelings of overwhelm during today's dog walk with my family and slowly something surfaced...unsurprisingly whilst walking alongside the canal - water and wisdom are interconnected.
What surfaced is that you just need to stop looking outside for answers and start trusting yourselves and your own inner wisdom, stop getting distracted and pulled of course by the glimmer of someone elses truth. (Actually, trusting ourself more is often the best place to start!). So today I am making this the year that I really connect with what I need and want and not living a life of 'the shoulds' of your outside world.
I want to keep it life and business more simple. Stopping overcomplicating it - it just increases my procrastination and overwhelm and I am all for ditching those feelings during 2024!
So my word for this year is going to be Simplicity - with a motto of 'simplify to multiply' or a 'less is more' philosophy.

3rd January 2024 - I love winter
Sometimes it can be hard to do things when it goes against your natural energy flow like winter or early starts. And sometimes there can be a something that motivates us that can balance the out of alignment energy and sometimes there can be something that helps us recognise something bigger.
I actually love the winter months though I suffer badly from the cold, so why do I love this season when so often it is wet and cold? It is because it means I get to see some beautiful sunrises without the extra early get-ups. I am definately more of a night owl than a lark but do love a sunrise! I love nature's reminder that we can start over again and again and that it is ok.
We don't have to wait until the new year to have a fresh start. Each day is a new beginning, stop waiting for the perfect time to create the life you dream of...begin today and start again tomorrow. Each day will take you closer to the life you desire.
