Energetic and Soul Guidance to help you shine

Life Challenges through the eyes of the soul

Why do life challenges even exist? There are moments in life when you find yourself wondering why everything feels harder for you than it seems to be for everyone else. You may look around at friends, colleagues, or family members and question why they appear to move through life with ease while you are battling emotional, physical, or personal struggles.

And then there are the truly life-changing moments “dark night of the soul,” experiences that shake everything you thought was certain. The moments where you sit in complete disbelief asking, “Why is this happening to me?”

At times like these, the idea that your soul may have chosen this path can feel impossible to accept. When someone is moving through deep grief, trauma, heartbreak, illness, or loss, the suggestion that there could be meaning within it may initially feel confronting.

Over the years, I have worked with clients whose experiences have touched the deepest levels of human pain. Yet something remarkable often happens during a Soul Plan session. As understanding begins to emerge, there is frequently a visible shift , tension softens, emotions settle, and a new perspective begins to form.

From the soul’s perspective, life is not simply about comfort or achievement. It is about growth, expansion, healing, and contribution. The soul enters this lifetime seeking experiences that will help it evolve.

Why do life challenges exist?

Most of us would never consciously choose hardship. Yet it is often through our greatest difficulties that the deepest transformation occurs.

Challenges force us inward. They invite us to question who we are, what truly matters, and what needs to change. Difficult experiences can awaken strengths, wisdom, compassion, and resilience that may otherwise have remained dormant.

Sometimes the soul’s opportunity may involve:

  • Learning a new level of emotional or spiritual awareness
  • Discovering hidden strengths or gifts
  • Being guided towards serving others
  • Healing unresolved patterns or karmic experiences
  • Breaking free from limiting beliefs or old identities

Very often, people experience challenges without recognising the deeper invitation hidden within them. They may remain focused only on the pain itself, unaware that the struggle could also be opening a doorway into a new version of themselves.

The gift of Soul Plan awareness

When I first began studying Soul Plan, it felt as though I had been handed a map that explained the deeper energetic patterns of life. The insights I received about my own journey were incredibly powerful.

During a period of repeated miscarriages, understanding the energies within my chart helped me recognise patterns at both a mindset and an energetic level. Soul Plan did not “fix” the situation, nor did it predict an outcome, but it gave me the clarity to make aligned changes that ultimately supported me in becoming a mother to two beautiful boys.

Again and again, I have witnessed this same process with clients. Whether they come for a reading or decide to learn the system themselves, Soul Plan helps people understand the deeper purpose behind their experiences and empowers them to make more aligned choices.

For some, the challenges relate to loss, abandonment, illness, or difficult relationships. For others, the struggle may centre around confidence, self-worth, emotional sensitivity, or feeling unseen. Yet beneath every challenge lies the possibility for growth and transformation.

Understanding your Soul Plan can feel like finally having direction after years of wandering through uncertainty. The challenges do not magically disappear, but you begin to understand why certain themes repeat and how you can work with them instead of against them.

Understanding the Soul Plan System

Soul Plan is based on ancient Hebrew wisdom and was later developed into the a life purpose guidance system by Frank Alper. It was subsequently expanded and updated through additional channellings by Blue Marsden to align it with the energies and needs of modern times.  It is this evolved modernised version that I use in my soul plan readings, coaching work, and training programmes.

The system works through the energetic vibration held within our birth name. According to Soul Plan, each soul enters this lifetime carrying three core growth intentions:

  • A worldly soul path
  • A spiritual soul path
  • A soul destiny

Each of these contains both challenges and gifts.

I often describe these as stepping stones. First, we become aware of our challenges. Then we move away from our challenge energies by grounding ourselves in our natural talents and abilities. From there, we are able to step towards our goals and fulfil our soul potential.

Generally, we work through the worldly path first before moving into the spiritual path. This transition often starts between the ages of 30–35, although it can happen earlier or later. When I refer to the “spiritual path,” I am not talking about becoming a monk or withdrawing from life. Rather, it is the stage where we begin asking deeper questions about meaning, purpose, fulfilment, and the nature of existence itself.

At the centre of all of this lies the Soul Destiny,  the deeper calling that continues unfolding throughout life and that our soul ultimately seeks to embody.

The Soul Plan and life challenges of Princess Diana

During my soul plan courses, we explore the Soul Plan charts of well-known individuals such as Michael Jackson, Princess Diana, and Franklin D. Roosevelt. Their charts often reveal fascinating insights into the deeper “why” behind their life experiences and to better understand how soul energies can play out in real life.

Princess Diana offers a particularly moving example.

Her chart reflected worldly challenges around boundaries, emotional fulfilment, and finding her identity through relationships. In many ways, she spent much of her early life trying to discover who she truly was beneath the expectations placed upon her.

At the same time, her talents revealed grace, elegance, and an ability to connect deeply with people. Her 20-2 soul plan energy also carried the capacity to challenge social expectations and transform traditional structures,  something she undeniably did within the Royal Family.

One of her soul goals involved learning to use her voice publicly and authentically. Although this did not come naturally to her initially, it became a major part of her soul growth. Over time, she moved from uncertainty and suppression into becoming someone who spoke openly, compassionately, and powerfully.

Her spiritual energies reflected love, healing, and humanitarian service, while her Soul Destiny points towards the lasting legacy of care and compassion she left behind.

Her life reminds us that even those who appear outwardly privileged still carry soul challenges that require growth and transformation.

When Pain Becomes Purpose

I have worked with many beautiful souls whose greatest challenges eventually became their greatest gifts.

One client I worked with lost her mother at a very young age. Her chart clearly reflected grief and loss within her challenge energies. Interestingly, the same vibration also appeared within her soul's goal.

In essence, her soul was being asked to transform her relationship with loss.

Years later, she had become a highly respected bereavement counsellor supporting children through grief. Her own experiences, combined with the nurturing qualities shown within her talents, allowed her to guide others with extraordinary compassion and understanding.

What once caused her deepest pain eventually became part of her purpose.

Her challenge became the very foundation of her purpose.

Looking Beyond the Life Challenge

The deeper meaning behind life challenges

Soul growth does not mean pretending pain is easy or spiritually bypassing difficult emotions. Life challenges can be heartbreaking, exhausting, and deeply unfair from the human perspective.

But when viewed through the lens of the soul, they may also contain hidden opportunities for growth, healing, wisdom, and awakening.

Sometimes the question shifts from:
“Why is this happening to me?”

to:
“What is this experience asking me to become?”

This wider perspective is not always easy to access alone, which is why Soul Plan readings can be so valuable. They offer insight, clarity, and support during times when life feels uncertain or overwhelming.

So if you are moving through a difficult chapter right now, try to remember:

Your soul may not be punishing you. It may be guiding you towards a deeper version of yourself that is still waiting to emerge.
