Autumn Equinox Blessings (Mabon) for those in the Northern Hemisphere - day and night are restored into perfect balance and the final stages of the harvest is completing. It is time to celebrate nature's abundance and the harvesting efforts with family gatherings.
The seasons are changing, cooler air and shortening days indicate we are transiting and the energies are drawing downwards, away from the sun and back down into the earth. The changes that we observe in nature can be a guide for the changes of focus that we need in our own lives and our own inner landscape . This is natural soul wisdom.
The Energies of the Autumn Equinox
The drawing down of energies indicate it is time to finish those old projects and complete the preparations for the next change. As the energies begin to drop it can be a prompt to slow down our pace, start to store energies reserves just as we store the ripening nuts and harvested crops.
This is a time for really celebrating the abundance, that is present in the ripened fruit and berries but the impermanence that we see within Mother Nature.
As the trees shed their leaves it is reminding us about learning to Let Go and about nature of change.
The earth is drawing back down into the roots, back into the spiritual realms of the womb of the earth. The root chakra bring us back into connection with family and our home.
The energies of this time mean this is a great time for completing projects, let go of what no longer serves, It is also a great time to make long term plans - what seeds of ideas can you hold in the womb of the earth, being nourished with rest and nourishment from deep in Mother Earth during the winter months waiting for the right time to grow.
Bringing Balance
On this night of balance, we seek to restore the balance in the world, and in ourselves.
With the increasing darkness, we ask guidance in seeing clearly to understand the past, to fully experience the present, and to know what is necessary to continue successfully into the future. The autumnal equinox is our invitation to turn toward the light within.
Autumn Equinox Meditation
You will find a Letting Go meditation in my Learning about Letting Go with the Autumn Season Blog
This is a Balance Inner Reflection Meditation:
- This is great one to do at night meditate.
- Light a candle and set the intention "Tonight I seek balance in my life, to bring the harmony and balance that we experience in the universe and nature"
- As you begin extend an invitation to receive insights and understanding around abundance, change, letting go and preparing for the future.
- Meditate and reflect for a 5 minutes (or other fixed length of time) on a lit candle.
- Then blow the candle out allowing the light to fade and into darkness and meditate/reflect for a further 5 minutes (or same length of time as you did with the light)
- At the end journal anything you inner guidance or reflections that you received
