Challenge in Life from the Soul’s Perspective
There are times in life when we look in the mirror and wonder why everything feels like such a struggle. Perhaps comparison creeps in as we watch friends, family, or colleagues seem to move effortlessly through situations we ourselves are finding difficult.
Then there are the truly painful moments — the life events that shake your world to its core and leave you asking, “Why is this happening to me?”
In those moments, the last thing you may want to hear is that, at a soul level, this path may have been chosen. I can almost hear the response now: “No… absolutely not.”
When you are deep within a “dark night of the soul,” it is natural to reject the idea that there could be any purpose behind the pain.
Over the years, I have listened to clients share experiences that were far beyond anything I could imagine enduring myself. Yet, time and time again, by the end of a Soul Plan session, there is a visible softening — a deeper understanding, greater clarity, and often a sense of relief.
At a soul level, life is about growth. Our soul comes into this world seeking opportunities to learn, evolve, and serve.
Why Did Your Soul Choose This?
It is often through challenges, difficulties, and even devastating experiences that the greatest soul growth occurs. Why? Because difficult moments compel us to look deeper within ourselves. They push us to search for answers, discover inner strength, and explore new ways of being.
In doing so, we expand beyond who we once were and step into greater potential.
Perhaps you are beginning to see that difficulties can sometimes be opportunities in disguise. The opportunity may be:
- To learn new wisdom or understanding
- To step into a role of service in a powerful way
- To heal unresolved experiences or complete unfinished soul learning
For many people, however, challenges are simply experienced without awareness of the deeper opportunity unfolding beneath the surface. They may not know how to move beyond the struggle and into the growth that is being offered.
How Soul Plan Can Help
When I first trained in Soul Plan, I gained access to what I call a soul growth map through this powerful and ancient life-purpose guidance system. The insights it revealed about my own life were profoundly transformative.
For example, during a period of repeated miscarriages, understanding the energies within my chart helped me make shifts at both the mindset and energetic level that eventually supported me in becoming a mother to two boys. Soul Plan did not predict the outcome or “fix” the issue directly, but it gave me clarity, awareness, and the ability to make aligned choices that supported my soul’s potential.
I have witnessed this same transformation repeatedly in readings for clients — whether they are receiving a session or learning the system for themselves. Soul Plan brings awareness and clarity that allow people to make choices aligned with their soul.
For some, this relates to significant life experiences such as loss, abandonment, or health challenges. For others, it may involve emotional patterns such as shyness, lack of self-worth, over-sensitivity, or difficulty asserting themselves. Yet within every challenge, there is also a hidden gift waiting to emerge.
Knowing your Soul Plan is like moving from a ship lost in stormy, uncharted waters to standing confidently at the helm with an advanced navigation system guiding your journey. You still have to steer the ship yourself, but now you have direction and understanding.
What Is Soul Plan?
Soul Plan originates from ancient Hebrew wisdom and was later channelled into the soul guidance system used today by Frank Alper. It was subsequently expanded and updated through additional channellings by Blue Marsden to align it with the energies and needs of modern times. This is the version of the system that I use in my readings, Soul Empowered Coaching sessions, and training programmes.
According to Soul Plan, the vibration held within our birth name contains energetic keys to the life we are experiencing.
At the soul level, we arrive with three core soul-growth objectives:
- A worldly soul path
- A spiritual soul path
- An ultimate soul destiny
The journey towards these goals is often like stepping across a pathway of stones. First, we move away from our challenge energies by grounding ourselves in our natural talents and abilities. From there, we are able to step towards our goals and fulfil our soul potential.
Generally, we work through the worldly path first before moving into the spiritual path. This transition often occurs between the ages of 30–35, although it can happen earlier or later. When I refer to the “spiritual path,” I am not talking about becoming a monk or withdrawing from life. Rather, it is the stage where we begin asking deeper questions and sensing that there is more to existence than the purely physical world.
At the centre of it all lies the Soul Destiny — the deeper purpose and growth our soul ultimately seeks to embody.
The Soul Plan of Princess Diana
During my courses, we explore the Soul Plan charts of well-known individuals such as Michael Jackson, Princess Diana, and Franklin D. Roosevelt. Their charts often reveal fascinating insights into the deeper “why” behind their life experiences.
Take the gentle soul of Princess Diana, for example.
Her worldly challenge energy reflected difficulties with boundaries and a tendency to seek her identity through relationships with others. In the early part of her life, she struggled deeply with knowing who she truly was.
Her grace, elegance, and natural poise were reflected within her worldly talent energy. The 20-2 vibration in this position also gave her the ability to transcend cultural restrictions and challenge expectations — and royalty has never been the same since.
Her worldly goal involved mastering communication and public expression. This was not something that came naturally to her, but it was something her soul called her to develop. To achieve this, she had to overcome feelings of oppression and discover her identity from within rather than through others.
Her loving, compassionate nature and desire to bring healing into society emerged more strongly through her spiritual path — once she released the need for perfection. Her Soul Destiny energy suggests a legacy of caring, support, and humanitarian contribution that continued even beyond her lifetime.
While her challenges may appear mild compared to some people’s experiences, they were still deeply significant for her soul’s journey and growth.
From Challenge to Purpose
I have worked with many beautiful souls whose greatest challenges eventually became their greatest gifts.
One client, for example, lost her mother at a very young age. Her Soul Plan chart clearly reflected themes of loss within her worldly challenge energy. Interestingly, her worldly goal carried the same energetic vibration, meaning her soul was being called to move from one end of that spectrum to the other.
And she did.
She became a bereavement counsellor, supporting children through grief and loss. Her own experiences, combined with the nurturing and emotionally wise energies within her talents, allowed her to become deeply effective in helping others heal.
Her challenge became the very foundation of her purpose.
There Is an Opportunity Being Offered
Hopefully, you are beginning to sense that challenges are not purely negative. At a soul level, the journey we choose in this lifetime is one of growth, expansion, and potential.
The invitation is to look beyond the pain and ask:
“What opportunity is life asking me to step into?”
This does not mean dismissing emotions or pretending suffering is easy. Nor does it mean assigning blame. Rather, it requires the willingness to gently step back and view life through a wider spiritual lens.
This is not always easy to do alone, which is why a Soul Plan reading can be so supportive. It can bring awareness, clarity, and understanding through the guidance of a trained practitioner.
So if you are currently facing challenges or walking through a difficult season of life, remind yourself:
From your soul’s perspective, there may be an opportunity unfolding within the experience — even if you cannot fully see it yet.
